AP: BJP announces candidates for LS and Assembly polls

Hyderabad, April 9: The BJP announced on Wednesday its list for the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections in the Telangana region. The list is reported to include former Union Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya, Ch Vidyasagar Rao among others.

Dattatreya would be contesting from the Secunderabad LS seat while Vidyasagar Rao will be contesting from Karimnagar.

Some of the other candidates announced by the saffron party for the remaining seats include MLA E Lakshminarayana (Nizamabad), MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy (Mahabubnagar), Ch Narendranath (Medak), senior leader N Indrasena Reddy (Bhongir), Bhagawanth Rao (Hyderabad) and R Parameswar (Warangal,SC).

BJP has also announced candidates for 21 assembly seats on the last day of filing the nominations. BJP is in alliance with the TDP for both the assembly and the Lok Sabha elections in undivided Andhra Pradesh.

As per the seat sharing deal, BJP may field 47 assembly seats (out of 119) and 8 Lok Sabha seats (out of 17) in Telangana.

Polling is likely to be held on April 30.
