Ambani-Adani knew about demonetisation- BJP MLA makes claim only to backout later
A BJP MLA from Rajashan has stirred up a hornet's nest by alleging that "Ambani and Adani" had prior knowledge of demonetisation.
Jaipur, Nov 17: A BJP MLA from Rajashan has stirred up a hornet's nest by alleging that "Ambani and Adani" had prior knowledge of demonetisation. The MLA was however quick to add later that this was an off the record conversation.

Bhawani Singh, the Kota MLA's was heard making the statement on video which has been doing the rounds in the social media. He is heard saying, " they announced it so suddenly. They could given some time, they could have given a month or fifteen days.....Adani Ambani aur atram-shatram jo hai, in sab ko pehla hi pata tha. Inko hint de diya gaya tha (Adani, Ambani etc knew about it, they were given hints)," Singh said in a video footage posted by news agency ANI on its Twitter handle.
Singh was however taken aback when he saw the news doing the rounds. He was quick to add that his comments were distorted. He told the Indian Express that not only was this an off the record conversation, but his statements had been distorted. He has also said that it was "unethical" to record an off-record conversation, said the report.
Not new to controversy:
Controversy is no stranger to this MLA. He had drawn flak earlier for his remark on Bihari students. He had said that those students from Bihar coming to Kota ought to be subject to a background check for criminal activities.
Singh's comments come at a time when the opposition has joined hands to corner the ruling BJP-led government in the Parliament.
Prime Minister Modi, had on November 8, announced that all Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 rupee notes would cease to be valid in all forms of transactions in a bid to tackle hoarding of black money, corruption and terror financing.
