Ahead of MCD polls, AAP MLA Ved Prakash joins BJP
The AAP MLA's jump to the BJP comes at a time when all parties are undertaking heavy campaigning in all three zones of east, south and north Delhi municipal corporations.
Weeks ahead of the all important Delhi civic polls, Aam Aadmi Party's Member of Legislative Assembly from Bawana, Ved Prakash resigned from the party. With the battle pitched between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the AAP in the upcoming Municipal corporation of Delhi polls, Ved Prakash joined the saffron party on Monday.
After announcing his decision to resign from the Aam Aadmi Party in a press conference on Monday morning, Ved Prakash joined the BJP in its Delhi unit office. BJP leaders claimed that this was the first of many to come and that they expect more leaders of the AAP to desert the party ahead of MCD polls 2017.
The AAP MLA's resignation and jump to the BJP comes at a time when all parties in the fray, including the Congress, are undertaking heavy campaigning in all three zones of east, south and north Delhi municipal corporations. While it is unclear why the MLA chose to shift to the BJP, given his win in the 2015 assembly polls in Delhi, BJP hopes to gain added strength.
