Agra, Jan 20: Lawyers of western Uttar Pradesh have threatened that they will not allow US President Barack Obama to enter Agra on January 27 unless the Central government assures them of establishing a separate bench of Allahabad High Court in the region.

As per report in Times of India, more than 12,000 lawyers across Agra division are making plans to form a "human wall" to stop Obama from visiting the Taj Mahal.

The report say the lawyers have set a deadline for the Government, saying if by January 25, PM Modi does not make a commitment that he will announce the creation of Agra bench in the next Budget session of Parliament, they will go ahead with their plan.

"If Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives assurance that by January 26 there will be a separate bench of Allahabad High Court in western UP, there will be no blockage for Obama to enter Agra on January 27," District President of Bar Association, Mathura, Vijay Pal Singh Tomar said after attending a mahapanchayat of advocates of western UP.

There has been a long-standing demand for a separate Bench of the High Court in western UP in view of the inconvenience faced by litigants belonging to other regions of the state.
