After meeting with Advani, Narendra Modi to address Wardha rally today
Continuing his election campaign for upcoming Lok Sabha election, the BJP PM candidate will also hold a 'Chai Pe Charcha' with villagers in Yavatmal later. The Gujarat chief minister is expected to visit the region where untimely rains and hailstorm have damaged crops.
Maharashtra BJP unit president Devendra Phadanvis was quoted as saying, "Modi will be arriving in Wardha to address his first election rally in Vidarbha region where the party has fielded former two-term MLC Ramdas Tadas."
"In the evening, Modi will visit Dabhadi village in Yavatmal where crops were badly damaged due to untimely rains and hailstorm. He will participate in the 'Chai Par Charcha' (discussion over tea) with the villagers," Phadnavis added.
Modi on Thursday met veteran BJP leader Advani in his residence in the national capital. According to sources, Advani expressed his displeasure as BJP asked him to contest election from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Modi along with BJP leader Sushma Swaraj tried to convince Advani to contest from Gandhinagar and not push for Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. However, if reports are to believed, the party patriarch is sticking to his stand.
