After Ice Bucket Challenge, it's #WAKEUPCALL now, have you participated yet?

New Delhi, Oct 11: Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, in which one had to pour a bucket full of ice on one's head. Well, that social media charity craze is over but there's a new one which taking the social media by storm.

The latest craze, #WAKEUPCALL, has seen celebs sharing photos of themselves waking up in the morning, and then nominating others to do the same. It also includes making contribution to UNICEF UK's efforts to aid Syrian children.

It is the brainchild of UNICEF Ambassador Jemima Khan, who started it by posting a open-mouthed selfie on Instagram. UNICEF started the initiative to help 6.5 million Syrian children who are in desperate need of help.

"I had this idea to try to replicate the astonishing success of the Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised $100m for the previously little-known Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association, and the No Make-Up selfie, which raised £8m in six days for Cancer Research UK," she was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

'Thankfully UNICEF - who I have been working with for 13 years now as an Ambassador - liked the idea and went with it, " She further said.

Many celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Daisy Lowe, ELLE cover man Tom Hiddleston and many more have participated in the initiative to raise money for UNICEF's charity efforts in Syria. they participated by posting pics of themselves having just woken up and adding the #WakeUpCall.
