Hooda, Chavan booed down by 'Modi' chant
Mumbai, Aug 21:The chief minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan said that he would never share the dais with Narendra Modi after his speech was disrupted in the presence of the latter at Solapur. He ascertained that he will not attend an event with Modi, which is scheduled for tomorrow.

Modi has been invited to inaugurate the much-awaited Nagpur metro rail project tomorrow for which Chavan was also invited.

This comes in the wake of the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's declaration that he would not attned any event with the current PM.

Meanwhile, the Congress party condemned the act of disrupting a CM's speech, saying that the party would not tolerate such incidents in future. Chavan faced th eire of the audience when he accompanied the PM to Solapur to inaugurate a four-laned National Highway number 9 on Saturday. He had to stop speaking when the crowd started chanting Modi's name, while he kept mum.

Maharashtra Congress spokesperson said,"The suspicion that Modi has dictator's mentality is now coming true. To the date never a Chief Minister was humiliated in the presence of the Prime Minister at any function. Modi supporters created disturbance and the PM did not utter a word. This is dangerous for the democracy. Similar incident happened with Haryana CM too at a PM's function."

He further said,"Such incidents were not expected to happen in Maharashtra which boasts of progressive ideology of Rajarshi Shahu, Mahatma Phule and Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Modi mentality is responsible for this. Next time, we won't tolerate such incidents. Congress won't keep quiet. Congress opposes not Modi the individual but the Modi mentality."
