Tumkur, Feb 16: After spending a day with young students in Bangalore, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is now all set to check his popularity among women. The young Gandhi family scion on Sunday, Feb 16 will address the first women-only rally at Tumkur, Karnataka.

The idea behind holding an all-women rally originated from Rahul's focus on women empowerment and special focus on them ahead of the general polls due in two months, said sources in the Congress.

The Congress vice-president recently held a meeting with women in Bhopal to know their views on the party's manifesto ahead of the elections.

Rahul has been focusing on women empowerment and special focus on them

Earlier on Saturday, Rahul met students from various colleges at the Bangalore University campus and a long interaction with them.

Speaking to students on the lines of education Rahul said that education has only two purposes- certification and knowledge. "Our system is focussed on certification and not on knowledge. The entire structure of our system is to certify people," he said.

Later he even broke his security cordon to meet a 8-year-old student in the Garden City. Rahul stopped his convoy and got down from his car to meet Dushyant, a class four student who was waving a NSUI flag at the Congress Vice President as he was leaving Central College ground after an interaction with select students.

Speaking to reporters after his brief talk with Rahul, Dushyant said "....I had come to see Rahul Gandhi; ....he asked me how are you? I replied I'm fine, how are you?" "Then I told him- you will become Prime Minister; ....he replied to me- you will also become Prime Minister," Dushyant added.

Rahul Gandhi is set to tour across the nation in Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and other states in weeks to come, it was learnt.
