"Ya, looks like", says S M Krishna on joining BJP
The former Congressman and a strong Vokkaliga leader from Karnataka was to join the BJP on March 15 but had to cancel plans and return to Bengaluru owing to a personal loss.
"Ya, looks like," said S M Krishna on Wednesday when asked about him joining the BJP. The former external affairs minister is in Delhi and will join the BJP in the presence of party's national president Amit Shah. Krishna, who was scheduled to join the BJP last week had to postpone the plan due to a personal loss.
The former Congressman and a strong Vokkaliga leader from Karnataka was to join the BJP on March 15. Krishna, who had left for Delhi on March 14, returned to Bengaluru on an early morning flight on March 15 owing to his sister's demise.
Krishna resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party by submitting a single-line letter to party president Sonia Gandhi was invited by Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa to add strength to the saffron party ahead of 2018 assembly polls in Karnataka.
