Gurgaon: 2 men from Nagaland assaulted
Gurgaon, Oct 16:Just a day after a few Manipuri men were attacked by local goons, demanding that they spoke in Kannada, two men from Nagaland faced similar atrocities in Gurgaon.

Seven locals held the duo captive in Sikanderpur area and beat them up with vricket bats and hockey sticks on Wednesday night. 25 year old Awang and Chester, both call-center employees, were residents of Sikanderpur for the past 2 years.

The youth were called from their houses at 11:30 pm and were taken to the nearby vegerable market where they were assaulted. After the attack, their hair was cut off and they were asked to inform their other friends from the North East to leave the area.

The attackers told the men,"If you guys from Manipur and Nagaland come and stay here, we will kill you." The victims were rushed to a nearby private hospital, but were later shifted to the Civil Hospital as their injuries were severe.

A support group for the Northeast suggest that the place where the incident happened is notorious for hate crimes and that the authorities are doing nothing, despite complaints.
