Bollywood actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar of 'Sadak' fame, passes away
Born to a Maharashtrian family, Tatya (as he was fondly referred to by his family and friends) was known for his social work for the poor and his niche in the entertainment industry. Apart from his negative roles, he has also won accolades for his supporting roles in Ardh Satya, Aankhen, Ishq, Coolie No 1 and Gupt: The Hidden Truth.
In fact, he won two filmfare awards for his role in Ardh Satya and in 1991 for playing a ruthless eunuch in Sadak. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Sunanda Karmarkar. Interested in acting from a very tender age, it did not take him too long to establish himself as a veteran actor. His power-packed performance in Sadak will be remembered by his fans forever, despite the fact that he made a mark in villianous roles in Bollywood and also appreciated for his cameos and comedy roles.
Meanwhile, Narendra Modi, condoling the death of the great actor, Tweeted:
