Actor Mohan Agashe, activist Anil Avchat to get Godavari award

Nashik, Jan 28: Veteran actor Dr Mohan Agashe was among luminaries spanning various fields of life to be honoured with Godavari Gaurav award constituted by the city-based Kusumagraj Pratishthan.

Those shortlisted for the award included social activist Anil Avchat, violinist Ms N. Rajam, educationist Ramesh Panse, mountaineer Neha Pavaskar and senior painter Suhas Bahulkar.

The award distribution ceremony will be held here on March 10, commemorating the death anniversary of Gyanpeeth-awardee V V Shirwadkar alias Kusumagraj. The awards carries cash prize of Rs 21,000, a memento and a citation, sources added.

Mohan Agashe was also awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1996 for his contribution to A theater personality, an actor, a psychiatrist, Aghase is known for his immense contribution in all the fields mentioned above. He has acted in some of the award winning films that include Rang De Basanti, Gangaajal, Aks and others.
