Absconding Narayan Sai arrested near Pipli in Haryana
Narayan Sai was arrested in a joint police operation between Gujarat and Delhi police late on Tuesday night. He, along with his father Asaram, is facing rape charges filed by two Surat-based sisters. Earlier, Gujarat high court had dismissed his plea to quash charges against him.
The Surat court had issued the arrest warrant in Sai's name in connection with the FIR on October 28 under Section 70 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The younger of the two sisters had lodged a complaint against Sai accusing him of repeated sexual assault between 2002 and 2005 when she lived in Asaram's Surat ashram.
