AAP in the soup: JD(U) threatens to withdraw support
The video shows Kumar Viswas, at a function in September 2013, saying that when a foreigner asked him about Muharram festival rituals, he replied that people hurt themselves on Muharram in grief for their ancestors who died 400 years ago. The comment created huge furore across the country and nearly 23 cases were filed against him in various cities.
Kejriwal said Kumar Viswas has already apologised for the comment
"This kind of use of language about a religious event is shocking and extremely derogatory", said the JD(U) MLA.
On Monday morning, Kejriwal responded to Iqbal's allegations and said Viswas has already apologised for his comment.
However, Congress sources say that the real reason behind the threat is to negotiate for the post of Deputy Speaker from the AAP.
