5 Tehreek Ghalaba E Islam terrorists shot dead in Telangana
Bengaluru, April 7: Five terror suspects belonging to the Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami sponsored, Tehreek Ghalaba E Islam were shot down in an encounter at Warangal today. Among the five persons killed was a key operative Viqarrudin Ahmed who had hatched two plans to assassinate Narendra Modi when he was chief minister of Gujarat.
The encounter took place Warangal when the police were taking these operatives to court. They had tried to escape from the police when fire was opened on them leading to their death, Hyderabad police officials informed OneIndia.
Operatives tried to overpower police
All these five persons were being taken to the court for hearing. They entred into a scuffle with the police and tried to snatch their guns and escape. However the police managed to overpower them and killed them in an encounter.
The five persons killed are Viqaruddin, Syed Amjad, Haneef, Zakeer and Irfan All of them members of Tehreek Ghalaba E Islam, an outfit funded by the Bangladesh based Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami.
Viqar was the most notorious of them all. He had planned a series of attacks in Hyderabad which included assassinating several BJP leaders including Narendra Modi. He was also involved in the killing of a police constable.
