5 killed as coal heap caves in, violence at Bhadrak port in Odisha

At least five labourers were killed and another two critically injured in a mishap that occurred while loading coal in a goods train at Dhamra Port in Bhadrak district, Odisha. Several other workers are also believed to have been trapped under mounds of coal.
Angry labourers went on a rampage and burnt the port's main gate, three offices, an oil tanker and vehicles. Police has reached the spot.

According to reports, the mishap took place at around 12 PM when a group of labourers was loading coal in the premises of the Port, reports Odisha's private TV channel Kalinga TV.
Bhadrak District Collector GR Das said, "We have information regarding some workers being trapped in the coal heap. We will inquire how the labourers were engaged in work on Independence Day."
Senior police officials have gone to Dhamra.
