26/11 terror attacks: David Headley may appear before Mumbai court today

Mumbai, Dec 10: Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, who had surveyed the targets that were attacked on 26/11 at Mumbai, may appear before a court via video conferencing here on Thursday.

Headley was made an accused in the 2008 attacks on November 18 after a special court's order in Mumbai.

Headley is currently lodged in a jail in the USA after he was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"Your exhibit (application) is allowed," said judge GA Sanap while he issued summons for Headley, reported Zee news.

"Issue summons to Headley through US District Court for North eastern district of Illinois, USA for appearance before this court on December 10," the judge directed.

According to reports, Headley drew maps, took video footage and scouted several targets for the attacks including the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel and Nariman House during his five visits between 2006 and 2008.

His reconnaissance provided vital information for the 10 LeT terrorists and their handlers, who attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008 in which 166 persons including foreign nationals were killed.
