24X7 electricity in Delhi, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh: Piyush Goel

New Delhi, Sept 4: On the completion of the 100 days of PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government, the Union power minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said that the Centre plans to ensure 24X7 power supply in the national capitial; Delhi, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.

According to a report published in TOI, Goyal told the media-persons at the BJP headquarters that he has "already met chief ministers of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh besides the Delhi LG on the issue of power."

On power tariffs, Goyal said the government had no way to regulate rates, it planned to make the power production system efficient to increase production and even out the prices.

Goyal, who also holds the coal ministry portfolio said that the ministry is waiting for the final verdict of the Supreme Court on 218 coal block allocations.
