New Delhi, Jan 16: Two of the 8, accused in robbing and raping a Danish tourist have been arrested by the Delhi police on Wednesday evening. However, the rest six are still at large. Alok Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Mohd. Raja (22) from Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Mahendra aka Ganja (25) from Maharashtra were arrested at central Delhi's Shivaji Park area.

The police also added that the duo are vagabonds. Police has retrieved the victim's iPod, earplugs, her spectacle case, a Nokia mobile phone worth Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,800 in cash from the duo. Kumar also informed that the Danish woman's medical examination would be done in Denmark.

According to the woman, she was taken by the rapists to the Divisional Railway Officers Club, near the New Delhi Railway station and raped. However, a club member said that it was difficult since there were labourers working inside and Lohri festival was being celebrated. Police suspect that the woman was confused about the incident spot.

The woman was targeted when she lost her way to the hotel on her way back to the hotel from the National museum in the morning. As per her statement, her tormentors were the very people whom she had asked the way. The four people, allegedly, took her to an isolated spot, robbed her off her ipod and other valuables, thrashed and hit, and then raped by 8 men (one of them carrying a knife).

She was kept hostage for more than three hours, before she could finally escaped to her hotel around 7 pm on Tuesday. The manager of the hotel called the police at 9:30 pm. According to the police, the woman was highly traumatised when she reached the police station. "She was bruised on her face and neck. Around 30 people have been detained for questioning. They are all vagabonds," said Kumar.

Meanwhile, the Danish government has been informed as the woman wished to leave the country on Wednesday itself. She is, however, willing to return to India to depose.
