11-yr old boy set ablaze with kerosene in Hyd's army area; dies
He was later taken to Osmania Hospital where he was being treated for 90 percent burns. He testified that a few military men were responsible for the attack. He succumbed to injuries today.
The incident occurred at 2:45 pm yesterday, said Assistant Commissioner of Police D Srinivas. A resident of Mehdipatnam, the boy's mother re-iterated the entire story.
However, it is yet to be clear why was the boy attacked. A empty can of kerosene with a remnants of matchsticks have been found at the site and have been sent for investigation.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged and investigation is on, with the help of the Army who share a good rapport with the locals. "We are assisting the police in the investigations since the incident took place in the Army area. We too are keen to get to the bottom of the issue," said a spokesperson for the army in Delhi.
