Pangkalan Bun, Indonesia: In a fresh twist in the search operation of the reminiscences of the missing Air Asia flight, the tail of the plane has been discovered. Considered to be the most important part of a plane that contains the Black Box and the cockpit, flight data recorder, this sent a fresh wave of relief among the rescue forces and the relatives of the victims, eager to know about the last few minutes of the dear ones.

This has been a major breakthrough after 11 days, although corpse and smaller parts of the planes along with passenger baggages have been retrieved. Following days of strong currents and murky waters that hindered the search operations, divers and unmanned underwater vehicle spotted the tail of the plane.

However, National Search and Rescue chief Henry Bambang Soelistyo told reporters,"the top priority remains recovering more bodies along with the black boxes. So far, 40 corpses have been found, including an additional one announced Wednesday, but time is running out."

Meanwhile, Anton Castilani, head of the country's disaster identification victim unit, rues that in two weeks most of the bodies will sink and that decomposition will set in as the corpses retrieved have already shown serious signs of decomposition. The Airbus A320 went down on Dec 28. The last call records with the air traffic control suggested that the pilot sought permission for an elevation in height due to torrential weather ahead. However, they were denied the same because of heavy air traffic. No distress calls were issued.

The Fuselage of the craft is also said to have been discovered.
