Once again Mayawati has to face the acid test to continue her reign in Uttar Pradesh while other young political faces have been struggling to sweep out the woman CM who has been holding the position from last few consecutive years. Assembly election, which will elect the new Uttar Pradesh government, has been scheduled to be held in seven phases. The Election Commission (EC) announced the poll dates which are - February - 8th, 11th, 15th, 19th, 23rd, 28th and Mar 3 in 2012 and the poll counting will be held on Mar 6. The main aspiring political parties, who possess strength to change the political scenario in Uttar Pradesh, are - Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). While Mayawati led BSP will be contesting to grab the power in the state for the fifth consecutive time, Rahul Gandhi led Congress and Akhilesh Yadav led SP have been contesting to wreck the castle built by Mayawati and his supporters.
