Tirupati, April 22: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday called the YSR Congress party a jail and bail party and even went to the extent of saying that those who vote for that party should also remain in jail. The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh also said that any leader seeking a YSR Congress ticket should spend at least one week in jail.
Naidu, who was addressing a rally here, targetted the YSR Congres over choosing Samanya Khan as its candidate from Chittoor Lok Sabha constituency. Khan's husband was imprisoned in connection to a corruption case in West Bengal. Naidu said a record of imprisonment is something the YSR Congress has kept as a criterion for picking its Lok Sabha poll candidate and those who intend to contest on the party's ticket should spend at least a week in jail.
He also accused the YSR Congress, the party of Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy, as one which looted public monet and indulged in large-scale corruption. He also alleged that all jail mates of Jagan had become leaders of the party.
