The BJP has rejected the news that it was breaking up with its ally in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party.
It is just a rumour and there is no such on the cards, both the states medical and health minister, K Srinivas and party spokesperson G V L Narasimiha Rao said.
Earlier today there were news reports that the BJP had decided to severe ties with the TDP and would fight the future elections on its own.
Rao told OneIndia that these are just rumours and nowhere is there anything to suggest that we are breaking our alliance with the TDP or any other party.
The minister, Srinivas too said that the BJP the alliance with the TDP would continue without any hiccups. We are planning on strengthening the party in the state.
It is not correct to say that the allocation of funds from the centre to AP was meagre. In fact, all support is being extended by the centre to Andhra Pradesh, the minister also added.
The BJP's floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh assembly Vishnu Kumar Raju also said that the TDP and the BJP would continue to work for as long as possible for the development of the state.
He further clarified that the BJP was planning on expanding its base in the state. However, that does not mean that we are breaking up with the TDP or working against them.
