'Hero' bus driver dies but saves passengers' lives in Andhra Pradesh
The incident took place on Monday at Ramannagudem of Nuziveedu mandal when 35-year-old G Pamulu sacrificed his own life to save passengers' lives and thus averted a major tragedy.
According to a report, the bus number 208 was speeding at around 11.40 am but he managed to hit the brakes on time and bus slowed down as it collided with a tree.
Pamulu is survived by his wife and two children.
When the lady conductor and passengers tried to move him from his seat, he had already passed away by that time.
Nuzveedu rural sub-inspector G. Srihari Babu said that "only after the post-mortem, we can ascertain the exact cause of death. He might have died of a heart attack."
Pamulu who was working with the APSRTC since 2012, hailed from Nunna village of Krishna district and is survived by his wife and two children.
