The MLAs will meet Governor expressing no confidence in Gogoi's government. About 40 dissident MLAs last week had demanded Gogoi's resignation even though Gogoi was being backed up by party vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Some MLAs will also meet Assembly speaker regarding the same issue.

Congress on the other hand said that party members cannot be forced to take a hasty decision. " The high command will take a decision in this matter," Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
Mallikarjun Kharge was sent to Assam as Central Observer and his report was with the high command, Singhvi said. MLAs had demanded Gogoi's resignation also keeping in mind the current state of law and order in Assam.
