The centre will be opened after the trial run of the Guwahati-Dhaka bus service.
Sources in the security said that the joint delegation of India and Bangladesh gave its clearance for the formal beginning of the bus service, the report added. It said the delegation which travelled from Guwahati to Dhaka emphasised on the need to improve the road condition at a few areas between Shillong and Dawki in Meghalaya and Dwaki and Sylhet in Bangladesh.
The delegates saw about 30-40 kilometres of road between Dhaka and Shillong to be in a very poor condition. The external affairs ministry has already brought the matter to the notice of the surface transport ministry, the report added.
The joint delegation also suggested improvement of the custom check stations at Dawki, which has a poor service infrastructure at the moment.
