Mock drill at Hindon airbase creates panic
Ghaziabad, May 6: A mock drill at the Hindon air base led to confusion. The mock drill was being conducted in the wake of reports suggesting that Jaish-e-Mohammad operatives were attempting a Pathankot styled attack.
The mock drill was part of the exercise to test the alertness of the security officials at the air base.
The confusion began when the Ghaziabad police reported that two unidentified men were seen entering the base. This sounded off an alert and panic which led to schools in the vicinity being closed.
A source informed OneIndia that this was a mock drill that was being conducted in the wake of intelligence inputs suggesting a Pathankot styled attack.
There has been a general sense of alert since the Pathankot attack and fresh intelligence inputs led us to conducting a security review. In the wake of these alerts the airforce was directed to conduct mock drills.
