Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports was in Himachal Pradesh for two days to take part in celebrations that mark the completion of two years of Narendra Modi government.
While addressing the meeting to mark the Vikas Parv he said that one of the major achievements of Modi Government in the last two years is that the government has revived the youth optimism and proved to be a journey from pessimism to optimism, particularly for the youth of this country.
In the last two years, the minister observed that there is a sudden reversal of trend as a result of which the youth migrating out of India because of disillusionment or lack of opportunity, are now seeking to return back due to changed environment.

There is a restoration of confidence among the youth that under the Modi led dispensation, each one of them will get a fair opportunity to realise his potential depending on his caliber and hard work without any considerations of family lineage or nepotism, he added.
Later in the day, addressing a public meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh strongly advocated that the various pro-poor and pro-farmer programmes initiated by the Modi Government can be effectively implemented at the organisational level also and can, in fact, prove to be a very influential medium of mass contact (Jan Sampark).
For example, he said, Jan Dhan Yojana and Mudra Yojana can be carried forward with the assistance of Bank officials which will not only be able to provide the benefit to the genuine and needy, but would help develop leadership.
Dr Jitendra Singh also addressed the media persons where he disclosed that he had issued instructions to Nehru Yuva Kendras to reorient themselves to facilitate the implementation of series of youth related innovative programmes initiated by the Modi Government. He said, he had asked the Nehru Yuva Kendra authorities to initiate a special campaign to promote "Startup India, Standup India" programme among the youth.
