Worrying: He carries an Indian passport, but separatist leader Yasin Malik says he is not an Indian!
Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has triggered yet another controversy saying that he is not an Indian.
"I am not Indian, we are disputed people. Our status is yet to be ascertained," said Yasin Malik when he was asked about resumption of India-Pakistan talks and Kashmir issue.
'Want peace? Settle Kashmir issue'
He also said that India and Pakistan have good future if Kashmir conflict is settled.
"If we want people of India and Pakistan to live in peace, then the Kashmir matter must be settled. If this conflict is settled, then India, Pakistan and Kashmiris will have a good future and people will live without fear," Yasin Malik said.
Reacting to query on his attendance in Pakistan's National Day celebrations, Malik said, "I am in here, because I got the invitation from Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit."
Separatists attend Pak Day function
Many senior separatist leaders of Kashmir attended the Pakistan Day celebrations at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Monday, Mar 23.
Besides Malik, Chairmen of both factions of Hurriyat, Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and several other separatist leaders attended the function.
Mufti pursuing RSS agenda
Malik came down heavily on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for "hatching conspiracies to weaken Kashmiris' and about Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, he said that the Chief Minister was pursuing RSS agenda by supporting integration of Kashmir with India.
Passport of Yasin Malik should be revoked
After his comment on nationality, many leaders opined that the Indian government should instantly revoke the passport of Malik.
There were pressure to revoke Malik's passport in way back in Feb, 2013, after he shared the dais with LeT Chief and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan.
