DMK supremo's younger son Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin and party's treasurer is all set to contest from Kolathur constituency in North Chennai. He is pitted against AIADMK candidate JCD Prabhakar.
Kolathur Constituency went to the assembly polls for the first time in the year 2011.

The assembly elections in Tamil Nadu is slated to be held in single phase on May 16 and the results will be announced on May 19.
2011 election result:
On May 13, 2011, Stalin won against AIADMK contestant Saidai Sa Duraisamy.
M K Stalin (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-- DMK)
Born on March 1, 1953, M K Stalin served as Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011 and as 44th Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2001. Presently, he is the Treasurer (since 2008) and the Youth Wing President of the DMK (since 1984).
He was elected as an MLA for the first time in 1989 from Thousand Lights Constituency in Chennai and and continued to represent the constituency in 1996, 2001 and 2006.
In 2003, he was elected as the Deputy General Secretary of DMK Party.
After his elder brother M K Azhagiri's expulsion from the DMK, Karunanidhi made Stalin the heir of the party.
For 2016 assembly polls, Stalin had started campaigning in 2015 itself, when he covered a journey "Namaku Naame" in all 234 constituencies in September and it was completed in Feb 2016.
Stalin is married to Durgavathi and has two children-- son Udhayanidhi (Tamil cinema producer and actor) and daughter Senthamarai (heads a Montessori school).
JCD Prabhakar (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-- AIADMK)
Presently, JCD Prabhakar is an AIADMK MLA from Villivakkam assembly constituency.
Born on Oct 13, 1952 in Dindigul district, JCD is an advocate a real estate consultant by profession. He is married and has three children.
If we go by the political career of both MK Stalin and JCD Prabhakar, then Stalin can be an undisputed winner in the upcoming polls.
