Telangana gets its CM; how the oath taking went (on Twitter)

Hyderabad, June 2: The formation of Telangana was a grand affair and grander was the way in which K Chandrashekhar Rao was sworn-in as the chief minister of the state. While the city of Hyderabad was adorned in Pink yesterday, in honour of the pink party and its leader, there were pink-hued fireworks too.

KCR had a rather early start in the morning on June 2 as he paid tribute to the Telangana martyrs at the Hyderabad gun park.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the new chief minister on Twitter and assured of all support. He said,""India gets a new state! We welcome Telangana as our 29th state.Telangana will add strength to our dvlnt journey in the coming years. Telangana's birth comes after years of struggle and sacrifices by several people. We pay our respects to them today. Centre assures complete support to the people & Government of Telangana in taking the state to newer heights of progress."

The Cabinet members also took oath and the first to take the oath was Mohammed Mahmood Ali, who may be the Deputy CM and took oath in Urdu.Dr. T. Rajaiah, who is a doctor by profession and represents Warangal is the second to swear in. Eetala Rajendar is the fourth cabinet minister to be sworn in. She represents the Huzurabad constituency.

Then in line was Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who represents NIzamabad. KCR's nephew T. Harish Rao sworn in as a representative of the Siddipet constituency.

K.Chandrasekhar Rao takes oath as Chief Minister of India's 29th State, Telangana.

T Padma Rao sworn in from the Secunderabad constituency and P. Mahendar Reddy from Ranga Reddy district. Apart from these, KCR's son K. Tarakarama Rao, Jogu Ramanna from Adilabad district, Jagadish Reddy, Koppula Eashwar has been sworn in as Speaker of Assembly.

Interestingly, there are no woman candidates in his cabinet.

Not just Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but also other political parties and politicians congratulated the newly-formed government.

Heading toward the Brigade road parade grounds, the CM's convoy will end where he will address a public meeting:
