New Delhi, Jan 24:The reception that Rahul-Priyanka's convoy yesterday in Amethi may have been disappointing for many. True, it was AAP'S members and a few other farmer unions that staged the black-flag protest, but the Congress is not in the habit of receiving such negative vibes from their pet Amethi, at least.
Despite that, one cannot completely negate any chances of Congress winning the elections from its home ground, especially when Priyanka's birthday on Jan 12 was celebrated with huge pomp and show.
A programme to distribute tricycles to the physically disabled and blankets for the needy was also organised. The local party unit also organised Dalit-bhoj (food for Dalits).
She visited Amethi, along with Rahul Gandhi, on Jan 23 and she was received with open arms yet again, completely shunning the party's negative reception in certain quarters. She was spotted visiting homes and shops, drinking tea with the villagers.
