OMG! New ICCR chief Lokesh Chandra says PM Modi is incarnation of god, greater than Gandhi
After receiving good words from some of the Congress leaders I.e Shashi Tharoor and Sheila Dikshit recently, Narendra Modi got applaud from eminent academician Lokesh Chandra.
Chandra who was appointed Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) chief recently said that Modi is like incarnation of the god.
While giving interview to Indian express, this former acolyte of Indira Gandhi said, Modi is a "man of ideas, not of ideology"; who from a practical point of view "supercedes" Mahatma Gandhi; who has made "a much more meaningful impact" on the lives of the poor than Karl Marx; and who is virtually an incarnation of God ("woh bhagwan ke avatar hain").
He further added, "I have been a Congressman all my life. I was close to Indira Gandhi, I had personal relationships with several top leaders of the erstwhile Soviet Union. But for Modi, politics is only till the elections. After the polls, he is only thinking of the country".
Earlier in last month, he was appointed as 17th president of the ICCR , succeeding Karan Singh. Chandra who was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006, held several prestigious positions in the past. That includes chairman of Indian Council for Historical Research and vice president of the ICCR . The eminent academician has been a Rajya Sabha member twice - 1974-80 and 1980-86.
