As BJP's prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi turns 64 today, we take a look on how various states are celebrating NaMo's birthday. But, before that, know how 64th birthday is special to Modi!

The BJP's dynamic leader, NaMo's 64th birthday is indeed very special, this year. The best 'advance' gift he could ever get from his party- the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is definitely, the one, that he was declared as the BJP's choice as the PM hopeful for 2014 general elections.

Born as Narendra Damodardas Modi, NaMo, as he is popularly known as, has come a long way and still has to go miles. Now, he is a "man with a mission to accomplish".

Advani's praise: An icing on cake

The mollifying of 'sulking' LK Advani was a major challenge for Narendra Modi as well as BJP top leaders who supported him as the party's prime ministerial hopeful. But this, cold vibe also melted as Advaniji understood the mood of the nation.

On September 17th, the icing on the cake is that the BJP's patriarch and veteran leader, LK Advani bury the so-called hatchet with Modi.

On the occasion of Modi's 64th birthday, Advani reportedly telephoned him and extended his birthday wishes.

Just a day before NaMo's 64th birthday, Advani, who was earlier not happy about BJP's decision to nominate Modi as the party's PM candidate, praised and lauded Modi's contribution in developing Gujarat.

While addressing a gathering in Chhattisgarh, the "iron man" Advani said, "Gujarat state has improved a lot on infrastructure and electricity. I give this example because Narendra Modi, who my party has appointed as 2014 PM candidate, has done a lot for development in Gujarat."

The nation says NaMo, NaMo!

As the wave of NaMO is flowing in the entire country, those, who want to see him as the country's next prime minister, are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring his victory in the next year general elections.

Not only Modi's home-state, Gujarat celebrated Modi's birthday, but his supporters from across the country cheered on his special day.

A news channel showed visuals of how different states are celebrating Modi's birthday, in their own way.

In Gujarat's capital, Ahmedabad, a birthday cake weighing 63 kg was made for Narendra Modi.

In Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh, people carved a 'sand-face' of Narendra Modi at the famous Triveni Sangam (the confluence of three holy rivers- the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswati).

In Bihar capital, Patna, some saints performed "havan" for the victory as well as the long life of NaMo. Although, Bihar's JDU government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar broke 17-year-old alliance with the BJP, but the celebrations continued for Bihar BJP as they cut cakes on Modi's birthday and distributed it among the gathered audience.

Although, as expected, Nitish Kumar abstained from wishing Modi, but his party's spokesperson KC Tyagi extended "heartiest wishes" to Modi and wished for his long life.

Similarly, in Lucknow and Delhi, the BJP supporters danced and celebrated Modi's 64th birthday with great pomp and show.

Modi seeks mother's blessings

Meanwhile, Modi, dressed in a golden kurta, took blessings of his 94-year-old mother, Hira Ba at her Gandhinagar residence.

The crowd greeted and wished him by giving flowers to their chief minister.

After touching his mother's feet, Modi said, "I came for my mother's blessings. There is no bigger privilege than that."

On his birthday, the BJP's poster boy said, "I have faith that people's blessings won't go waste, it will give me strength to go on with my work."

Few are aware of the fact that Modi, who is a crowd-puller, when he speaks, is a pure vegetarian and an avid poet, and penned down various poems in Gujarati language.
