Narendra Modi shares his Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his popular radio programme Mann Ki Baat. The programme aired at 11 am on all All India Radio and DoorDarshan channels has a great reach especially among rural India.

Prime Minister began his today's address by sharing good news with people about various parts of India receiving plentiful rain. He said, "For the last few weeks we have got positive news about rainfall in various parts of the nation."

PM on ISRO launching 20 satellites:

PM talked to people about the importance of the ISRO launching 20 satellites at one go and how it establishes India as a nation to go for, for even foreign countries who want to launch their satellites. India launches satellites at 10 times less cost than other nations do.

PM also congratulated students who had made two satellites that were part of 20 satellites launched by ISRO recently. PM Narendra Modi congratulated ISRO during Mann Ki Baat and lauded the efforts of the organisation.

"Like our farmers our scientists are working very hard and making our nation very proud."

"Yesterday I was in Pune where I met college students who made one of the satellites that was launched along with others a few days ago."

"This satellite signifies the skills and aspirations of the youth of India."

"Similar work was done by students from Chennai."

PM on women fighter pilots:

PM talked about how beti bachao beti padhao has become part of life of Indians and he reminded nation that three women pilots who were inducted in Indian Air Force are not from metro cities nor do they come from capitals of their states.

He reiterated that girls from small town can also reach for the sky with little support from family and friends.

"'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' has touched so many lives. The results of the various examinations show how women are excelling."

PM on International Day of Yoga:

PM talked about how International Yoga Day was celebrated with lot of pomp and show across the world. He talked about creating a mass movement with regards to Yoga as a way to prevent many diseases and also as a way to help alleviate issues caused by disease like diabetes.

"You would have seen postage stamps related to Yoga being released."

"You would have seen Twitter joining Yoga Day celebrations through a special emoji."

"Projections of Yoga on @UN building became popular."

"We need to think about how Yoga can mitigate diabetes."

PM on emergency imposed on 25th June 1975:

PM talked to the nation about how it is easy for people to criticise the government today as there is democracy prevalent now. He reminded how in 1975 on this day emergency was imposed and freedom of people was crushed.

"Democracy is our strength and we will have to always make our democratic fabric stronger."

"Jan Bhagidari is essential in a democracy."

PM also talked about an initiative undertaken by his government where citizens can rate his government by logging in to MyGov website. He said that, "There was a day when voice of people was trampled over but now, the people of India express their views how the Government is doing."

PM talked about people participating in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and water conservation programme. PM talked about Chandrakand Kulkarni who wanted to donate money for Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

"A retired government employee giving almost a third of his pension for a Swachh Bharat. What can be a greater inspiration."
