Modiphobia triggers 'futile' bonhomie between Mamata-CPM

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
In an interview to a Bengali news channel, the West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee said that if a proposal comes, TMC might join hands with CPM. She also indicated that to keep BJP at bay in the state, the doors of her party are open for the Left.

Congratulating Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and the Congress for rallying together against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the recent Bihar by-polls, Mamta said if a situation comes in her state, her party would also think on similar lines.

Referring to the recent by-polls in Bihar where the RJD-JDU alliance won six seats out of ten the TMC supremo said that both should have done this earlier.

"I congratulate Laluji, Nitishi and the Congress for coming together. Had they done this before the Lok Sabha polls, they would have won the majority of the seats," Mamta Banerjee said.

"In our state, if the same situation develops we will think. Nobody is untouchable," Banerjee said.

Is Mamata didi scared of the rising BJP?

Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly been attacking Narendra Modi-led BJP and has been making lame accusations on the party leaving aside the main opposition Left Front. This clearly shows that Didi is now getting nervous because of the rise of BJP in the state and is suffering from ‘fear psychosis'.

BJP state President Rahul Sinha had also said that Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was suffering from a fear-psychosis. He said, "The rise of BJP in Bengal has left Mamata in tremendous panic as she is afraid of the saffron party. She has thus fixed BJP as her main target of attack leaving aside the main opposition Left Front."

He further said, "Mamata Banerjee's bonhomie with the Left parties shows that when it comes to the rise of a common adversary, the BJP, two mutual enemies with different ideologies can join hands."

Sinha also said, "The BJP is now the only real alternative in Bengal. The day is not far when a BJP government in the state will be a reality."

Is success of Nitish-Lalu alliance inspiring Mamata to join hands with CPM?

In West Bengal, where the politics has remained polarised between the TMC and the CPI-M, the BJP has emerged as a new alternative as the state can't afford to have governments which can't deliver.

Thus, scared with this alternative it seems that Mamata Banerjee has got inspired by the RJD-JDU bonhomie which has given good result for the time being in Bihar. Although, the alliance has borne good fruits in Bihar in these elections, but what is to be seen is whether the same will bring some good for the voters of Bihar also or it is just an arrangement to benefit the respective parties in the state.

The TMC supremo is so inspired from Lalu-Nitish bonhomie that she has opened the doors of her party for the longtime foe CPM to keep BJP at bay as she fears that soon the BJP will gain strength in her state.
