Kuala Lumpur, March 15: The mysterious disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines has engaged the minds of one and all. While the Twitter is flooded with condolences and prayers, there are others like renowned businessman Rupert Murdoch who perhaps have their imaginations flying.

Who is Rupert Murdoch?

An Australian American busienss magnate, Murdoch was appointed the managing director of Australia's News Limited, which he inherited from his father in 1952.

He is also the founder of Chairman and CEO of global media holding company News Corporation, which is the world's second largest media conglomerate, its successors being News Corp and 21st Century Fox after it split on 28 June 2013.

This media tycoon has always been in the headline and prefers to maintain his stature there. First his controversial marriages, divorces, apalling alimonies.

According to the 2013 list of Forbes richest Americans, Murdoch is the 33rd richest person in the US and the 91st richest person in the world, with a net property worth of $13.4 billion.

Moreover, in May 2012, he was named the 24th most powerful person in the world by the Forbes.
