Indian politics rises up to climate issues, shows Twitter

New Delhi, June 5: During the Lok Sabha election 2014, political analysts were sceptical of the interests of political parties in environmental challenges that India was facing. In fact, there were no clear indications of any of the parties bothered with environment as none of them had it mentioned in their manifestos and election agenda.

However, Twitter reactions today, on the World Environment Day, indicate otherwise. From Narendra Modi to Digvijay Singh, concerns for the environment show clearly in the Twitter account of political stalwarts. Incidentally, not only politicians, but also school children, writers and activists have shown concerns for their environment on Twitter.
