Bangalore, March 29: UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Valerie Amos briefed journalists following closed-door Security Council consultations on the situation in Syria.

Amos sharply criticized the Syrian government's lack of progress in allowing desperately needed aid to people in Syria, telling the Security Council on Friday that the regime's delays in withholding cross-border aid deliveries are "arbitrary and unjustified"  and against international law.

Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama visited Saudi King Abdullah at Rawdat Khuraim, Saudi Arabia.
