Bangalore, Feb 20: The protests in Ukraine that have been going on for more than three months now, have claimed close to 30 lives and injured many and these anti- government protests are now also affecting the athletes who are currently participating in the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. 

Athletes have appealed to both the countries, Ukraine and Russia to maintain calm.
