Currency demonetisation has proved to be a litmus test for the NDA government. The results may be uncertain, but the PM of India Narendra Modi has nothing to worry.
He has the NDA backing. BJP and its allies on Monday expressed their support for the move at the NDA meeting at the Parliament House in New Delhi. The meeting was held in preparation to take on the opposition in the winter session of the Parliament beginning November 16.
In fact, IB Minister Venkaiah Naidu said after the meeting:
"There was no rethink on rendering the high-value currency notes illegal. The government's crusade against black money and corruption will be carried to its logical conclusion."
