Modi's statue had been displayed in New Delhi and is seen dressed in the prime minister's signature statement: kurta pyjama and a Nehru jacket.
Modi was involved in the creation of the wax statue right from the beginning and was pleased with the final results when he came face to face with the wax figurine earlier this week at a private viewing, a statement from Madame Tussauds said.
"What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do," Modi said.
Modi also tweeted: "Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure."
Modi will join other political leaders at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong including US President Barack Obama, Chinese President Xi Jinping among others.
