Manjhi praised Modi while Nitish criticized him
On Friday, incumbent CM had heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his assertive diplomacy. Speaking on the sidelines of a function at Patna Zoo, he said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving befitting reply to Pakistan for its misadventure. We will extend support to him in this matter".
This must have come as a big surprise to Nitish kumar who recently had swiped at Modi for his inefficient diplomacy. "During the recent visit of China's President Xi Jinping to India, the Chinese Army entered into Indian territory. We want to know where is the 56-inch chest now. What happened today when Chinese Army was entering our territory? Nothing is happening", Kumar had said.
On Friday also he slammed Prime Minister for not doing enough on the matter of ceasefire violations in Kashmir. "Where are the tall claims he made about Pakistan before the Lok Sabha elections?", Nitish swiped at Modi. This is not only single incidence where both the leader are singing in different tunes.
Flip-flop over Patna stampede
The Telegraph report says that this wall of difference have grown after recent Patna Stampede where more than 30 people had died. The flip-flop over whole matter, first Manjhi defended officials after the tragedy and then finally out of blue transferred them, reflects something definitely is cooking.
Report says that Nitish made no efforts to defend the officials. Speaking on the matter as quoted by the telegraph, a JDU MLA said, "For the first time, Nitish and his followers did not have a say in a major decision of the state government". Things not gets end here.
Why the differences?
Apparently because of some bottled up grievances against Manjhi, the Chief Minister was not even invited in a meeting at Nitish Kumar residence. The meeting was called to make a strategy for coming coming Assembly election in the state.
It is being believed that Nitish camps are not at all happy with Manjhi's recent acts- his bribe statement and then criticism of the functioning of Patna Medical College.
At a time when party is needed some hand holding exercise after recent rout in Lok Sabha poll, this will definitely prove a big dampener. The Assembly election is scheduled in next year and party will have to work a lot to get it's lost pride back. Though, in recent by-poll they got good result but that is not enough. They still have miles to go.
