Here are some things you could while you embrace darkness to save Mother Earth:
- Enjoy the black out
The best and the most simple way to enjoy the Earth Hour as your neighbourhood plunges into darkness is to enjoy the black out. With no TVs and computers rumbling in the background and with absolutely no lights you too can take a dive into the ambiance and cherish the silence.
- Bring out those old board games
Switching off your computers, and game consoles doesn't mean that you have to be bored out of your senses. Open the old closets where your childhood board games are stashed, dust them off and enjoy the games with a friend or family member while savoring the nostalgia of times when there were no X-boxes and Playstations as you take a trip down the memory lane.
- Candle light dinner
For old and young alike, Earth Hour provides a great opportunity to rekindle the romantic magic with a simple and old-school candle light dinner.
- Time for family, friends, pets
All of us know that there is at least one person or a living thing in our lives craving for our attention or presence. This March during the Earth Hour take the time to have a conversation with your mother, an old friend, or your little furry (or scaly) friend.
- Do nothing
Take the hour to do nothing. This is the golden moment when you can save yourself from all the things related to the mad rat race of the day and do absolutely nothing. Although one must wonder if the twenty first century human is still capable of enjoying having nothing to do.
What ever may be the reason it is definitely the time to join in the global campaign and switch off the lights between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Saturday, Mar 27.
