Six killed as jeep falls into gorge in Uttarakhand
Chief Minister Harish Rawat has expressed grief at the loss of lives in the mishap.
Pithoragarh, Nov 1: Six persons were killed today when the jeep they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Dharchula area of Pithoragarh district.
A Bolero fell into a deep gorge at Selmari in Dharchula sub-division of Pithoragarh district at 2 PM in the afternoon killing all six occupants of the vehicle on the spot, Deputy Superintendent of Police Himanshu Shah said.
The jeep was going from Bansbagad to Kota when the accident took place, the DSP said. Only one body has been recovered so far, he said, adding rescue operations are on.
