Chennai, May 6: The build-up to the May 16 Assembly election in Tamil Nadu is getting interesting. The nine-year-old daughter of minister C Vijayabaskar, the state's health minister, was seen campaigning for her father recently, a Daily Thanthi report said. She also accompanied her father throughout the campaigning.
Priyadarshini, in fact, was determined to accompany her father during his campaigning to utilise the summer vacation. Her father was initially hesitatnt but had to give up before his daughter's will, said the AIADMK sources.
The girl was seen canvassing support for her father, who is contesting from Viralimalai constituency, from where he had won in 2011, again. Viralimalai constituency came into existence in 2011 after delimitation. Priyadarshini, dressed in casuals, spoke over the microphone and asked the people to vote for her minister father, the report said.
The girl even spoke on various initiatives that the current AIADMK government had taken for the welfare of the people.
She even surprised people with her knowledge of the schemes that the government had taken up for the welfare of the people.
Vijayabaskar, who defeated former Union Minister for State of Health S Reghupathy in 2011 by a margin of over 39,00 votes, launched his campaign last month, shortly after being nominated from the seat.
