Chennai, May 9: DMDK supremo Vijaykanth, popularly known as Captain, said the opinion polls for the May 16 election in Tamil Nadu were fake and accused the two main parties---the ruling AIADMK and DMK---of manipulating them.

- CVoter poll: AIADMK likely to win 116 seats, DMK 101, BJP 0 in TN
The actor-politician said this while campaigning for G Bhimrao of the CPI(M)--one of the constituents of the six-party People's Welfare Front (PWF) contesting this year's election and aiming to end the days of both the major Dravidian parties.
Vijaykanth, the chief ministerial candidate of the PWF, said if the pre-poll surveys were genuine, then all of them should have shown identical results. While one opinion poll showed the DMK alliance was ahead, another said the AIADMK was ahead.
Vijaykanth said the opinion polls were an attempt by the two parties to impose their own opinions and warned that people are not fools.
The leader also took on Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's statement that he and the DMK's MK Stalin were like "double-barrelled guns fighting corruption". He accused the DMK of starting corruption in Tamil Nadu and responsible for the 2G scam and charges the Congress with the coal scam.
Vijaykanth said to see the end of corruption, Tamil Nadu needs a change in its guard.
