Chennai building collapse: Report submitted to TN CM Jayalalithaa
Justice (retd) R Reghupathy submitted his report to the Chief Minister at the Secretariat, the government said in a release.
Jayalalithaa had announced constituting the inquiry commission on July 3, saying it will probe the circumstances leading to the collapse of the under-construction 11 storeyed building at suburban Moulivakkam.
She had said that the Commission would find out whose ignorant attitude had resulted in such a mishap that left many workers dead and others injured and decide on fixing those responsible for it, adding her government would take further action based on the commission's report.
As many as 61 persons were killed and 27 injured when the under construction 11-storeyed building collapsed on June 28, prompting a massive rescue operation by various agencies, including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
