Jayalalithaa will come back, she can't leave us say her supporters

Tearing men and women, chanting prayers for Jayalalithaa's well being have become common sight outside Apollo hospital.

Jayalalithaa's supporters, party workers and politicians alike are sending out prayers for the ailing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Prayers started pouring in as news of Jayalalithaa suffering a cardiac arrest became official.

"Our Amma is well and she will come back for us. She is our mother, our leader. No harm can come to her", said a Jayalalithaa supporter outside the hospital. "We pray for her. We stand by her. She can't leave us. She will come back. Our Amma is fine. She will be alright by morning", said another.

Tearing men and women, chanting prayers for Jayalalithaa's well being have become common sight outside Apollo hospital. Emotions rode high outside the hospital as joy turned into anxiety within a matter of hours for AIADMK supporters. Even as supporters are rejecting the possibilities of the leader being in a critical condition, fear of the worse grips them.

President Pranab Mukherjee too took to Twitter to send his prayers for the leader even as social media buzzed with prayers for Jayalalithaa. Apollo hospitals took to Twitter to give updates as well.

Many petrol bunks have been shut as precautionary measures in Chennai. Most policemen have been called back for duty and all district headquarters are on alert. All leaders of the AIADMK are at Apollo hospital along with In-charge Governor Vidya Sagar.
